“Coming to see a new dentist for the first time can be a bit nervewracking, especially if you haven't been for a while. It's something we are very aware of and do our best to give everyone a warm welcome. We won't give you any lectures, just honest friendly advice and most importantly of all, we encourage you to decide what treatment is best for you.
The thing I enjoy most about this job is learning. Dentistry is constantly changing and every year I travel abroad somewhere to develop a new skill or technique. It keeps the job interesting and helps us ensure that our patients have access to the best of modern dentistry.
Some people collect things for a hobby. I lose them - golf balls. Thousands of them. It's a skill I perfected during my rugby playing days at Chineham R.F.C, making as many tries for the opposition as I did for my own team. Nowadays, there's nothing more enjoyable than a round of golf with the lads and a pint afterwards, where I will try to convince them that I'd be out there now wiping the floor with Tiger Woods every week, if only I hadn't squandered my youth by going to dental school.”
